We’ve been along to Badminton For You in Cumbernauld a couple of times now. Firstly I’ll say that it’s not really about the badminton – in fact there’s very little badminton going on when we’ve been there. Instead, they have a bunch of inflatables out for kids to play on.

They have regular bouncy castles, big slides, smaller slides, a sticky wall, a little inflatable maze, human hungry hippos, gladiators… It’s great fun. The little lady and her cousins had an amazing time the last time we were there. They tried everything and played for ages on their own before they came and made us join in. Which we did. Under duress, obviously… 😉

That’s actually one of the most fun things about it – accompanying adults can have a play as well. I’ve been down the slides and had a bounce with the little lady and I had a great time too! (Though it’s knackering – I don’t know how the kids do it for hours.) Plus it’s indoors, so it’s a great rainy day activity.

You can also try your hand at badminton if there is a free court.

The inflatables are there on weekends from 10am – 5pm (and usually during school holidays too – check their Facebook page to make sure).

Toddler Mornings

On weekdays (not during school holidays) Badminton For You run a toddler morning from 10.15am – 2.15pm where there are a selection of inflatables up, though not as many as on weekends. Kids get a snack and juice with entry, and their accompanying adult gets a tea or coffee. They run badminton lessons during this period for the little ones. Great value!

The Cafe

The cafe has a wide range of food up on the menu board: burgers, panini, sandwiches, potatoes, toasties, chips, breakfast and a bunch of other stuff. The last time we were there, a lot of stuff on the menu wasn’t available and food was limited to breakfast, chips, toasties and sandwiches. This could’ve been just that day though; I’m not sure.

I haven’t ever had any breakfast items but have tried a couple of other things from the menu (a toastie once and chips a different time, husband had a burger once) and honestly, the food could be better. But it is cheap.

The Cost

It is £6 per child unless you’re there early in the day when you get early bird entry before 10.30am for £4. Under 1’s are free with a paying sibling. There is no time limit on your bouncing. Adults bounce free with any paying child!

The Verdict

The inflatables at Badminton For You make a great change from soft play. All the climbing and bouncing around exhausts the little lady (and me when I join in). We really enjoy it. Since there are no time limits it’s pretty good value for money, and it makes a great rainy day activity. The toddler mornings are well worth it too.
