We went along to, what I think is going to be our last, Baby Cinema this morning in the Grosvenor Cinema on Ashton Lane. We’ve had a good run (we’ve seen Hunger Games, Godzilla, Dallas Buyers Club, Gravity and The Wolf of Wall Street amongst other) but we’re getting too old for it now since the Little Lady only wants to explore. I really wish she would stop trying to walk, just for another few months!

You can feed your baby (in whatever way), change them (changing facilities are in the toilets – I’m not suggesting changing your baby on the floor in the dark), put them for a nap or let them play peek-a-boo with the mummy or daddy sitting behind you. Everyone who’s there has a baby, so we’re all in the same boat. And it’s absolutely not a problem if your little has a wee cry – most of them do at some point anyway!

It’s on Tuesday’s & Thursday’s, usually at 10 or 10.30am, and it costs £6 for movie & a cuppa.

The Verdict

It’s fantastic. I’m so sad that we won’t be able to go anymore. I love the cinema, and I’ve genuinely absolutely loved Baby Cinema. It’s my favourite. I might try and squeeze one more in before she’s really not having it…

TIPS

  • If you can avoid it, I wouldn’t take a pram with you. Especially to a popular movie. It can get quite busy and pram space is limited – the bar area can sometimes by utterly packed full of prams and if you happen to be one of the earlier arrivals it can take a while to get back out!
  • If you’re weaning I’d try to bring finger foods. Spooning things unsuccessfully into an angry 8 month old’s mouth in the dark isn’t the best fun I’ve ever had.

The Grosvenor Cinema is at Ashton Lane, Glasgow, G12 8SJ.
