Since the forecast is pretty chilly as far the eye can see, I thought I’d write about a few fun, indoor places we love. First up is one of our favourites for some sweaty bouncing: Inflatanation.

This full warehouse down in Kinning Park is basically one big bouncy castle. There’s a massive ball bit (currently minus the balls due to Covid, but I’m sure they’ll be back eventually), slides, assault course, climbing wall and just loads of space to jump and run and tire themselves out.

There is also a separate space solely for under 5’s which has a wee slide, smaller ball pit and a few bits to bounce on. The little man absolutely loved this bit when he was allowed in it. (Under 5’s can go on the big bit too if they are accompanied by an adult, but this smaller space is only for them.)

Both my kids have a great time in here. They loved it when they were tiny and they still love it now. We’ve gone after school once or twice as a treat and they have so much fun. I don’t need to accompany anyone anymore (I’m simultaneously sad and happy about that to be honest) so I get to have a cuppa and finish some work while they have a play and get some of that ever lasting energy used up.

I’m not gonna lie, it’s a super sweaty hour. Pre-lockdown I had to go in with them because the wee one wasn’t old enough to go by himself, and honestly it made me realise just how much I need to do more cardio. It’s high energy and full on. But it’s so much fun.

The Cost

The cost is £5.99 for under 4’s and £9.99 for everyone else. This is for an hours jumping, after which they are usually tired out and not up for an argument about leaving. An hour is enough time for the kids, and was always most definitely enough time for me, but you can add an extra hour on at a reduced rate.

Tots sessions used to be on Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 12-1. The cost for these is £4.99; accompanying adult goes free. (This may be different now in a post-covid world. Times may change during school hols.)

The Grub

There is a snack bar where you can get drinks, teas & coffees, crisps & and other snacks. They don’t do much in the way of hot food, but they do now serve those cinema style hot dogs that the kids love.

The Verdict

Inflatanation is fantastic fun for kids (and adults). It’s a great alternative to the big trampoline parks as it tends to be a bit less busy and easier for younger kids to manage. Highly recommend.
