Crafty Play Cafe at Three Sisters Bake

The Crafty Play Cafe at Three Sisters Bake is the perfect place to eat out with young kids. You don’t have to worry about them getting bored because there’s lots for them to do in a safe space. And you can eat your delicious food as slowly as you’d like. I mean, what an absolutely brilliant idea this is. I cannot rate it highly enough!

Purrple Cat Cafe

If you love cats and don’t have any of your own to pat (or even if you do) then this is the place for you. The food is probably a bit more expensive than I’d like to have paid for it, but the cake was really delicious. The joy that the little lady got from meeting all the lovely cats was totally worth it.

Loop & Scoop

I don’t often take the kids out for ice cream in the middle of winter. But when I do, I make sure I get a churro out of it!

Gusto & Relish

We’ve been to Gusto & Relish cafe in Shawlands quite a few times now. Partly because they do my husbands favourite breakfast – baked eggs, but also because they’re so child & family friendly.

Bounce & Rhyme & Lunch

We went back to our old Monday haunt in the Mitchell Library this morning: Bounce & Rhyme. Great little group & there are loads all over Glasgow. (See here for a post I did a while ago about Bounce & Rhyme.) We had lunch in the Mitchell Cafe afterwards – they do yummy soups, sandwiches, …

Lunching at the No. 1 Chocolate Factory – NOW CLOSED

The No. 1 Chocolate Factory in Glasgow’s Charing Cross has always been the go-to place for my mummy & baby friends. Less so now because the babies are all toddlers and hating sitting still for more than 15 seconds at a time. But we still pop in on occasion to meet someone or grab some grub. …

Jollytots and Cookies

A friend was out in Uddingston the other day, and went to Jollytots and Cookies with her daughter. She very kindly wrote a great review for the page. Thank you so much Aileen! Here it is! Cost It costs £3 for an hour and a half play time. Pretty standard for soft play but there’s not as …

A Lunch Date in Montgomery’s

I love Montgomery’s Cafe. In the pre-child lives of my husband and I, it was our little local. Breakfast, lunch, cake, whatever.

The Cafe

I took the little lady today for lunch, and as usual, the food was delicious. Their soup is always amazing. Today we had carrot, ginger & lime, and it certainly hit the right spot with the little lady; she finished an entire bowl (a bowl the size of her head). With bread of course. I’m a fan of a good bit of homemade bread, and Montgomery’s make all theirs in house in the morning. You can tell. Because it’s seriously tasty.

They do really yummy sandwiches, hot meals and it’s a really nice place to breakfast (eggs benedict = winner). Their specials board is worth checking out, and they have a small children’s menu with a couples of toasties, sandwiches & kids soup bowl. I never noticed the kids soup option, hence the gigantic bowl.

Their ice cream is damn delicious too. And it’s most definitely worth going just for a cuppa and one of their cakes. Super yum!

The staff are really nice. One even played peek-a-boo with the little lady for a while.

There isn’t a huge amount of space for prams, especially when it’s busy (which is quite frequently). And they don’t have that many high chairs; I only saw 2, but perhaps there were more somewhere.

The Verdict

The food is delicious. The homemade bread is amazing & their cakes are divine. The grub is reasonably priced too. The cafe isn’t gigantic, so I might leave the pram at home. But as long as you beat the lunch rush you’ll be grand.

Montgomery’s Cafe is at 9 Radnor St, Glasgow, G3 7UA

Debenhams Cafe

If you’re ever in need of a place to feed your little one in town, Debenhams Cafe is a good shout. They have a microwave, bottle warmer & plenty of high chairs. Next to the microwave & bottle warmer, they also have little tubs with lids for baby’s food containing a spoon, a disposable bib and a …

People’s Palace & Winter Gardens

We checked out the People’s Palace & Winter Gardens a few days ago.

The Museum

Apart from being a place to run around in, the museum itself doesn’t really cater for young kids. There isn’t much for them to do & we didn’t come across any interactive exhibits or anything at all aimed at young kids.

However since stomping around on her own little mission is my little lady’s favourite thing in the world, it didn’t really matter.

Her favourite thing in the museum was the giant Clyde mascot which she attempted to climb a pillar to get to, and had a tantrum when she was unsuccessful.

The Winter Gardens & Cafe

The Winter Gardens are really nice. It’s warm, there are a lot of plants for a toddler to sniff and there’s a good bit of space to run around in.

The Winter Gardens are my new favourite place to meet up with mummy friends & their babies/toddlers. It’s reasonably central; there’s so much space (plenty space for a bunch of prams), loads of high chairs; and loud toddler voices get lost in the vastness of the giant greenhouse!

The food is decent & they have a nice selection of cakes. And their scones are pretty damn good.

Once Upon A Tart

If anyone’s looking for a place with pram space to meet up in town, Once Upon A Tart is pretty good. They don’t have a huge number of high chairs, but they have good big tables & it’s pretty spacious. Really nice grub too. Oh, and they do AMAZING cakes.

A Cake & a Cuppa in Penny Black Glasgow

We took a trip with some mummy & baby friends to Penny Black Glasgow this morning – the new cafe/post office/card shop on Great Western Rd. The Verdict Good tea, delish cake, friendly staff, amazing cards… Lovely place! Highly recommended.
