The wee man loves a game of mini golf. It’s one of his favourite things to do. So when we had a wee day just the two of us recently, we headed to check out Jungle Rumble on Bath St.

Getting the train or bus into town is a wee adventure for the kids, so we made a day of it and took the underground in to Buchanan Street, headed to Jungle Rumble for a play and then went for some cake at the Willow Tearooms before jumping on the underground back home again.

Jungle Rumble has 2 adventure golf courses to choose from: Surfers paradise, a 16 hole course with palm trees, tiki huts, totems and monkeys. And the Indian Ocean course which is a neon, 18 hole course with all sorts of glow in the dark sea creatures.

The kid chose the neon 90’s extravaganza, so we played some glow in the dark golf. This was one of the first post-lockdown (remember covid and lockdowns – feels like a lifetime ago) indoor things we did and we such had a great time. He always enjoys a game of golf, but he absolutely loved the course – he thought the glow in the dark sea creatures were very cool and I got several renditions of the Octonauts theme as we golfed.

I find some of these mini golf places a bit annoying when there’s not really any fun holes and it’s all a bit bland. This one has lots of fun holes (making myself laugh with that phrase) and some of them are quite tricky, so it was entertaining for both of us.

Jungle Rumble wasn’t too busy when we were there. We went during the school holidays and it was a rainy day so I did expect it to be a lot busier. It took us just under an hour to do the whole course. (We only did this one course when we visited. There is a deal if you do both where it’s a bit cheaper for the second course.)

The Cost

The cost is £10 per adult and £8 for kids for one of the courses. You can book the two courses at the same time which gets you a discounted rate on the second. (£17 for adults and £14 for kids). There are also deals for families etc. We were heading out for some doughnuts afterwards so we only did one course this time.

Tots sessions used to be on Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 12-1. The cost for these is £4.99; accompanying adult goes free. (This may be different now in a post-covid world. Times may change during school hols.)

The Bar

There is a bar where you can get drinks, coffees and bar snacks. The cocktails look pretty banging as well. However it was just me and the wee guy having a day out together, so we headed elsewhere for some food afterwards.

The Verdict

Jungle Rumble is really good fun for kids, and for adults. There are so few things for kids or families to do in the city centre. Jungle Rumble is a great place to play if you’re looking for a family friendly activity in the town centre.
