We were heading out to Glasglow the other night (different review entirely – not really as good as it once was, or was it exactly the same as it has been every year…) and rather than rushing home and back out again we decided to go somewhere within walking distance of both the Botanics and of my husbands work. Brewdog in Kelvingrove was the perfect place to meet, and a nice easy meal for all of us.
Brewdog serves up beef and chicken burgers (the Cluck Norris is my absolute favourite), really tasty wings, along with sides like mac and cheese, onion rings, poutine and loaded fries. They also have a decent vegan selection, with some delicious plant burgers and either seitan or cauliflower wings. I have to say, I do love a cauliflower wing, and the buffalo cauli wings in Brewdog are immense – would order them over chicken wings any day.
The kids have a few choices on their menu, but mine both love getting a Brewdog hoppy meal. In this they get either a burger, cheeseburger or chicken nuggets, which come with fries and a drink inside a hoppy meal box, and they also get a wee milk ice lolly at the end and some a wee puzzle/colouring book and some pencils. Plant based options are available for these as well!
I’m always too full after dinner to have anything else but next time I’m definitely saving room to try some of their deep fried Oreos. Brewdog also serve up brunch which we’ve not been along for yet, but you’ve got your full breakfasts, egg bennys, pancakes and fried chicken and waffles amongst other options. They all sound pretty good!
We’ve only been in the evenings, but it’s always pretty busy any time we’ve been in for food, so I would definitely recommend booking a table in advance.
I will also say that the staff in Brewdog are always great with the kids. (They definitely deserve to keep their living wage, and that’s all I’ll say about that.) They’re super friendly, often chatting away to them. And when a burger came out with sauce on it to the absolutely horror of one of the kids, (the audacity, I know – imagine a burger with flavours on it) they changed it quickly with no problems at all.
The Cost
Kids mains are £5.50 and the Hoppy Meals (which include a milka ica lolly and a wee puzzle/colouring book) are £7. Adult mains are around £13 and sides around £5. For 4 of us having mains, a couple of sides, soft drinks, hoppy meals for the kids, our bill came to about £55.

The Verdict
We love a good burger, so a trip to Brewdog is always an absolute treat. The food is great and the kids always eat every bit of it, which is a delight in itself to be honest. Highly recommend the buffalo cauliflower wings.
