It’s Mother’s Day! I never fully appreciated Mothers Day until I became one myself. During my lie in until 9am (I remember when that was early) I started thinking about all the mums in my life…

I’m thankful for my own mum. I wouldn’t be who I am today without her, and I’m so grateful for the help she’s given me over the past 18 months.

But I’m also really grateful for all the other wonderful mummies in my life; those who I’ve known for a long time, and those I’ve gathered over the past 2 years. What would I do without all of you? I can’t even imagine. You’ve helped me through so many difficult days and have brought so much fun & joy & sanity (& a little insanity – in a good way) into my life. Thank you. All of you.

Finally I think we should all say well done to ourselves. We do a relentless job. Some days feel like groundhog day. The fact that it’s fun & wonderful 98% of the time, and that our little people are delightful & incredible & just delicious, doesn’t mean that it isn’t hard.

So Happy Mother’s Day to every mum out there. I hope you all have a wonderful day. And I wish you all hot tea & a private pee. Simultaneously if necessary.
