If you’re a fan of dinosaurs (who isn’t?) you’re in for a treat at Jurassic Parrr, a dinosaur themed adventure golf course in Glasgow. Situated along Great Western Road just past Drumchapel, this mini-golf spot brings together the fun of golf with the thrill of a prehistoric safari. Perfect for any dino enthusiast.

Like most mini golf places, Jurassic Parrr caters to all ages and skill levels. You’ll start by picking up your clubs and balls at reception. And if you’re the competitive type you can turn it into a tournament with a scorecard. And I mean, who doesn’t aim to beat their 6 year old at mini-golf and become the family dino golf champ…

As you make your way through the course you’ll encounter a variety of maybe not life-sized, but certainly big dinosaurs, bringing a bit of the Jurassic era to Glasgow. Alongside the dinos the course features things like a cave, a giant ammonite shell, a little river running through it (where the wee man lost his ball multiple times – thankfully they float) and even a helicopter crash.

All in all, if you use your imagination, it makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time, with just a putter to protect yourself…

Dotted throughout the course are information signs that provide interesting facts about some of the different dinosaurs you’ll come across. So while you’re working on your hole-in-one, you can also brush up on your paleontology.

The actual golf itself isn’t too difficult for the kids, but it’s not really easy either. There are sandpits and water features to ‘jump’ the ball over, obstacles to avoid and tunnels to get round. The kids favourites are always the holes where you have a choice of 3 holes to aim for and it’s just your luck if you pick the one that gives you a hole in 1. There are a couple of those too.

We’ve visited the course a few times, and each time we’ve had a blast. The kids enjoyed it when they were younger and were just there for the dinosaur chat and to do whatever they wanted with a golf ball, but they still enjoy it now they’re a bit older. As do I!

The Cost

We’ve been here a couple of times now over the past 4 or so years and it is one of the few places that hasn’t doubled their prices. Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • Under 4s: £3.50
  • Ages 4-14: £6.50
  • Ages 14 and above: £8.50

The Verdict

If you love dinosaurs (or even just a bit of outdoor fun), Jurassic Parrr is worth a visit. It’s a fun combo of dinosaurs and golf, with a mini-golf course that’s actually pretty enjoyable to play!
