The beginning of a New Year always makes me think about my life; where I am, where I am going and my plans for the future. It’s at times like this, thinking about the past year, where I feel incredibly grateful. Grateful about lots of things that have happened in my life and the people in it. But there are some things I do sometimes take for granted. And these are actually the things that I’m most grateful for in my life.

My family. Especially my husband who is always there for me, no matter what, and who supports me in everything I do (even if he does roll his eyes when I take on yet another hobby). He works incredibly hard for our family and I appreciate it so much. I don’t know what I would do without him.

My health. I do occasionally think ‘BLEUGH’ when I look in the mirror, but my body has never failed me yet and I’m really lucky that’s the case.

A wonderful, positive and supportive group of friends who, although I don’t see lots of them very frequently, each play their own role in my life.

The opportunities that I’ve been afforded throughout my life. I’ve done lots of stuff and been lots of places. I’ve learned lots and met some amazing people. I’m really thankful for all of this, and the opportunity to keep doing things and learning lots!

The time I get to spend to spend with my daughter and my son. I was so lucky to be able to take a years maternity leave with each of them, and even luckier that I get to spend so much time with them both since then. These have been some of the best, most fun and most fulfilling days of my life and I’m looking forward to the rest of them.
