Tollcross Park Children’s Farm a nice place for a runaround with a toddler, and the indoor education bit is brilliant. It’s definitely one for younger kids but Tollcross Park itself has beautiful rose gardens and is nice for a wander or scoot round too.

Loch Lomond Faerie Trail
The Loch Lomond Faerie Trail a brilliant way to have a fun day outside in the beautiful Scottish countryside. It’s full of things to see and do and there are puzzles to solve and things to find at each faerie door station. And Luss is such a beautiful place on the banks of Loch Lomond, you could easily make a whole day of it here.
Glasgow Botanic Gardens
The Glasgow Botanic Gardens are a lovely sanctuary in such a busy corner of the city. The playpark is fun and theres lots of space for the kids to run free. The Botanics are the perfect place to let the kids let off steam without travelling too far or spending any money. As a bonus, I get to see the gigantic cacti too!
Helix Park & The Kelpies
I really enjoy a trip to the Kelpies, and the kids do too. It’s outdoors, it’s free, and because the Kelpies themselves are just beautiful. The playpark is fantastic and it’s a totally wheel friendly place too.
Linlithgow Palace
Linlithgow Palace is a really fun castle to explore. It is incredibly pretty with a really interesting history. The grounds are beautiful and the walk round the loch isn’t too long or strenuous for little legs. If you take a picnic, it’s a lovely place for a day trip.
Dollar Glen & Castle Campbell
Dollar Glen & Castle Campbell is a great day trip if you’re looking for something totally laid back and outdoors. There’s lots of natural things to examine on the walk up the Glen, and a beautiful castle to explore when you reach the the top!
Finlaystone Country Estate
Rustic, lovely and a tiny bit magical; Finlaystone is one of my favourite finds from last year. There’s so much to entertain kids. They can let their legs and imaginations run wild. And it’s a great place to bring the dog too.
Dumfries House
Dumfries House is set in beautiful grounds. There are lots of bits to entertain kids and their Engineering Playpark (a water play area) is absolutely fantastic. We all had a blast!
Woodland Light Experience
We had a lovely evening at the Woodland Light Experience. It’s a really nice way to spend a chilly autumn evening with family, and the kids had a great time exploring the woodland (and on the bouncy castle).
Woodland Fairy Experience – mini review
The Woodland Fairy Experience is one of my favourite things to do with the kids. It’s rustic and magical and full of good old loveliness and not overpriced. I love it.
Jurassic Kingdom in Glasgow Botanic Gardens
I was so looking forward to Jurassic Kingdom when I bought the tickets. From the advertising, it looked excellent. Dinosaurs that move and make noise and that could seem real to my little humans – what’s not to like? Well. Let me tell you. Before I begin, Jurassic Kingdom is a walk round event in …
Our Favourite Playparks in Glasgow
The little lady loves a good playpark. I’m a fan too – outdoors, free, energy burning – perfect activity! So I thought I’d share our favourite playparks in Glasgow (or pretty nearby).
Free Wheel North
We made the most of the dry weather yesterday & headed to Free Wheel North at Glasgow Green for a shot of the balance bikes…
Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre
Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre is rustic, and there’s plenty to keep the kids occupied. There’s space for the kids to run free and lots of animals to interact with; probably more of the latter than at other children’s farms we’ve been to. I’d definitely recommend it!
The new playpark at Calderglen
We’ve been along to the new playpark at Calderglen Country Park a few times since it opened. It’s great for younger and older kids, and the little lady LOVES it!
Greenbank Gardens
My lovely friend wrote this review of her recent visit to Greenbank Gardens with her toddler and baby. Sounds like a great day out!
Woodland Fairy Experience
We headed along at the weekend, just the two of us, to the Woodland Fairy Experience. It’s a really sweet, well thought out and magical activity for kids. The little lady LOVED it.
Whitelee Windfarm
We’ve been trying to make the best of some pretty crappy weather lately and ventured out to Whitelee Windfarm in Eaglesham. It’s rugged & picturesque, and the wind turbines are pretty grand up close. They also have a wee cafe for a post-walk warm up.
Culzean Castle & Country Park
We had a great time at Culzean Castle & Country Park. They have one of the best playparks we’ve ever been to. There’s so much to do at Culzean and it’s really beautiful too; pretty gardens, swans, forest and a big rocky shoreline. Excellent day out.
New Lanark & Falls of Clyde
New Lanark is a great day out whether you want to spend it indoors or outdoors. The Annie McLeod Experience is something fun and unusual for a rainy day, and the Falls of Clyde Reserve is a lovely place for a walk.
