Sunday Strolls: Glen Finglas Reservoir

The Glen Finglas reservoir spills over the dam into a stunning cascading waterfall. It isn’t a long walk, so don’t go expecting to be here all day, but there is loads to do in this area, and even within Glen Finglas itself. Plan a few stops and turn it into a lovely wee daytrip! Glen …

Robertson Park, Renfrew

Robertson Park is a great little park to spend a few hours. The playpark is varied, the skate park is good, there’s open space for running around. Plus there’s a cute wee pond with swans and ducks.

The Enchanted Forest, Pitlochry

We were asked along to the preview night of The Enchanted Forest in Pitlochry and we had the best time. Spectacular visuals, wonderful show!

Waterfalls Near Glasgow

There’s something special about a good waterfall. Here are some of our favourites for a great day out. Your next adventure awaits!

Victoria Park & Fossil Grove

Victoria Park is one of the prettiest parks in Glasgow. It has a lovely pond with lots of birds to see, a great playpark and Fossil Grove is quite magical for the little ones.

Bellahouston Park

Bellahouston Park is jammed full of art exhibits and sculptures. It’s a brilliant park and well worth a few hours exploration. The playpark at House for an Art Lover is great too. Absolutely one of our favourites in Glasgow.

Cloybank Farm

Cloybank Farm has some wonderfully friendly animals. They’re always waiting for the next bag of food to come along, especially the llamas and goats. It’s a great wee place to see farm animals up close.

Gleniffer Braes is a huge park with swathes of open space to explore. It’s so near the city, but it also feels like you’re miles away. With waterfalls, loads of walks, cattle and play areas it’s great day out!

Conifox Christmas

Conifox Christmas Experience was the kids favourite Christmas thing we did with them last year, so we couldn’t say no when we were asked along to the preview for their 2023 Christmas event. Of course, they loved it again this year. When we arrived we were met by an elf who led everyone through the …

The Burrell Collection

A lovely guest review of the Burrell Collection by a lovely mummy friend and her toddler who went along for a visit recently. Thanks A! It was a rainy Sunday afternoon, so we decided to go to the Burrell Collection with our 2 year old. I had been previously and thought she might like the …

National Museum of Rural Life

The National Museum of Rural Life is an excellent day out. It’s one of our favourite places to visit. There are lovely farm animals to see (and probably to give a wee pat to), lots to keep kids entertained in the museum, a little playpark, and a decent cafe as well. The tractor ride is fun for everyone too.

Inflatanation

Since the forecast is pretty chilly as far the eye can see, I thought I’d write about a few fun, indoor places we love. First up is one of our favourites for some sweaty bouncing: Inflatanation. This full warehouse down in Kinning Park is basically one big bouncy castle. There’s a massive ball bit (currently …

Glasgow’s One Hundred and Something Parks

I needed some motivation to get us spending time outside, so a few weeks ago I decided I was going to try to visit every park in Glasgow over the next few months. And I made a big list of every park in Glasgow!

Summerlee Heritage Museum

Summerlee is big enough to spend a few hours playing and exploring, and has lots of things to do. Best of all the museum is completely free! The tram ride is a very exciting added extra.
