Culzean Castle & Country Park

We had a great time at Culzean Castle & Country Park. They have one of the best playparks we’ve ever been to. There’s so much to do at Culzean and it’s really beautiful too; pretty gardens, swans, forest and a big rocky shoreline. Excellent day out.

Amazonia

Amazonia is small, but the little lady and her friend had a great time. Once they were done with the animals, the bridges entertained them for ages.

Cafe Ceramico

Cafe Ceramico is a great place to spend a morning or an afternoon with kids. It kept a pair of toddlers occupied for a good 3 hours. Well worth the trip out to East Kilbride.

Edinburgh Christmas Festival

We took a little day trip through to see the Christmas festivities in Edinburgh yesterday. Such good fun. Turns out the little lady is an adrenaline junkie! She had a wonderful time in Santaland! There are quite a few different rides: a little dragon rollercoaster, a helter skelter, reindeer ride (with bubble snow and bells to …

Toddler Trampolining at Ryze Glasgow

We’ve now been a couple of times to Ryze KidJump for some jumpy toddler trampolining fun. A friend had told us about it and I just knew that the little lady would love it; she is, as I imagine most toddlers are, a huge fan of jumping! One of our little friends came along too …

Bookbug Bags – Did You Get Yours?

Bookbug bags are gifted to every child in Scotland. They are completely free and full of books and bits for you to share with your child. The books we received in ours were great. They included those in the photo above, all of which are still some of the little lady’s favourites, and most of …

Finding the Gruffalo (in Bearsden…)

We’d heard that a Gruffalo had been spotted in the woods around Kilmardinny Loch in Bearsden, so last week we thought we’d take a trip out there to see if we could find him. Turns out that the Kilmardinny Loch Gruffalo is the very same one from the book! There are 5 or so different carvings and …

Hartbeeps

We tried out our first ever Hartbeeps class last week. We’d heard about it from a few friends who went along to the class in St Enoch’s on a Wednesday, but we’ve never managed to make it along. However they’ve just started a new class in the No. 1 Chocolate Factory on a Wednesday morning …

The Children’s Wood Playgroup

Guest post coming from me today so here’s a short intro to myself and the kid – Rachel: mummy to my little lad who is two years old, living in Glasgow and having great fun exploring the city through the eyes of a wee one. We’ve been meaning to check out the outdoor playgroup in …

Gaelic Groups and Classes in Glasgow

There were lots of comments, emails and questions on my post from a few weeks ago about learning Gaelic. So I contacted one of the lovely tutors I’ve had who gave me a list of the Gaelic classes and groups in Glasgow which I thought I’d share with you lovely folks. There are classes and groups for …

Scotland Street School Museum

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition is on just now in Scotland Street School Museum. I always go to see it, but this year thought we’d combine it with a trip for the toddler to have a wander round the museum too. The Museum As I mentioned I went because I wanted to see the …

Lollipop Land

We’d heard good things about Lollipop Land soft play in East Kilbride so we thought we’d check it out. It’s located in PlaySport, the same leisure precinct as Air Space, but once you’ve turned off the main road it’s really unclear where you’re supposed to go. There are no signs for it anywhere until you …

Tiny Academy at The Climbing Academy

Like pretty much every other toddler on the planet, the little lady absolutely loves to climb. Everything. She’s a maniac. And she clearly has no understanding (not even a tiny inkling) of what it might feel like to fall off that fence or that table or that window ledge. I should probably stop her from climbing everything, but …

Swimming at Eastwood Park Pool

We met some baby buddies at Eastwood Pool recently. I’d heard rave reviews about it from some other mummy friends, so we had to check it out! The Pool There are two parts to the pool area. There’s the main swimming pool with lanes for doing some real swimming or lessons, and a larger unlaned …
