Woodland Fairy Experience

We headed along at the weekend, just the two of us, to the Woodland Fairy Experience. It’s a really sweet, well thought out and magical activity for kids. The little lady LOVED it.

Whitelee Windfarm

We’ve been trying to make the best of some pretty crappy weather lately and ventured out to Whitelee Windfarm in Eaglesham. It’s rugged & picturesque, and the wind turbines are pretty grand up close. They also have a wee cafe for a post-walk warm up.

The Indoor Beach at Buchanan Galleries

The promise of playtime at a Caribbean beach is surely enough to make any toddler be on their best shopping behaviour, right? It’s a great way to break up the day if you’re in town for a few hours. Also, it’s a great way to support a local charity.

Gusto & Relish

We’ve been to Gusto & Relish cafe in Shawlands quite a few times now. Partly because they do my husbands favourite breakfast – baked eggs, but also because they’re so child & family friendly.

Culzean Castle & Country Park

We had a great time at Culzean Castle & Country Park. They have one of the best playparks we’ve ever been to. There’s so much to do at Culzean and it’s really beautiful too; pretty gardens, swans, forest and a big rocky shoreline. Excellent day out.

Amazonia

Amazonia is small, but the little lady and her friend had a great time. Once they were done with the animals, the bridges entertained them for ages.

St Mungo Museum & Glasgow Cathedral

I enjoyed wandering around St Mungo Museum and Glasgow Cathedral. There are lots of really beautiful artefacts and architecture. The little lady didn’t quite appreciate either of them though. She enjoyed exploring, but we’ll probably go to a more child-friendly museum in future.

New Lanark & Falls of Clyde

New Lanark is a great day out whether you want to spend it indoors or outdoors. The Annie McLeod Experience is something fun and unusual for a rainy day, and the Falls of Clyde Reserve is a lovely place for a walk.

Cafe Ceramico

Cafe Ceramico is a great place to spend a morning or an afternoon with kids. It kept a pair of toddlers occupied for a good 3 hours. Well worth the trip out to East Kilbride.

Hamilton Water Palace

We checked out Hamilton Water Palace recently. It has an excellent splash pool for the toddlers and some slides for the bigger kids. Great fun!

Rugbytots

We heard about Rugbytots from a friend a while ago. Since the little lady is so physical I thought we’d go and try it out. And maybe it would tire her out…

Toddler Trampolining at Ryze Glasgow

We’ve now been a couple of times to Ryze KidJump for some jumpy toddler trampolining fun. A friend had told us about it and I just knew that the little lady would love it; she is, as I imagine most toddlers are, a huge fan of jumping! One of our little friends came along too …

Finding the Gruffalo (in Bearsden…)

We’d heard that a Gruffalo had been spotted in the woods around Kilmardinny Loch in Bearsden, so last week we thought we’d take a trip out there to see if we could find him. Turns out that the Kilmardinny Loch Gruffalo is the very same one from the book! There are 5 or so different carvings and …

Hartbeeps

We tried out our first ever Hartbeeps class last week. We’d heard about it from a few friends who went along to the class in St Enoch’s on a Wednesday, but we’ve never managed to make it along. However they’ve just started a new class in the No. 1 Chocolate Factory on a Wednesday morning …

Pollok Country Park

Despite it only being a 10 minute drive away, I’ve only ever been to Pollok Country Park a few times. If we’re planning on going to a country park, I always kinda forget that Pollok Park is there and end up travelling much further. So the little lady and I went along this morning to get a toddler’s perspective and …

Birthday party at The Messy Place

We had a little party in The Messy Place in Bishopbriggs for the little lady’s second birthday. We decided to have it in The Messy place for a number of reasons. The main one though is that I wanted to have a fun celebration with her toddler friends but really didn’t want to have it in our …

The Children’s Wood Playgroup

Guest post coming from me today so here’s a short intro to myself and the kid – Rachel: mummy to my little lad who is two years old, living in Glasgow and having great fun exploring the city through the eyes of a wee one. We’ve been meaning to check out the outdoor playgroup in …

Scotland Street School Museum

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition is on just now in Scotland Street School Museum. I always go to see it, but this year thought we’d combine it with a trip for the toddler to have a wander round the museum too. The Museum As I mentioned I went because I wanted to see the …

Heads of Ayr Farm Park

There’s so much to do at Heads of Ayr Farm Park. There are play areas galore, trampolines, animals to feed, soft play. Great day out. Here’s our review!

Lollipop Land

We’d heard good things about Lollipop Land soft play in East Kilbride so we thought we’d check it out. It’s located in PlaySport, the same leisure precinct as Air Space, but once you’ve turned off the main road it’s really unclear where you’re supposed to go. There are no signs for it anywhere until you …
