We’re 33 weeks pregnant (how did that happen so quickly?) and really into the home straight. The bump feels really big now and bending down is just not happening unless absolutely necessary!
Totnosh Toddler Cooking Classes
The little lady and I just finished a block of cooking classes with Totnosh in Barrhead. She loves helping in the kitchen anyway, but she had a great time trying out new foods and bossing me around as her helper. Great fun & lots of new ideas for toddler food!
Woodland Fairy Experience
We headed along at the weekend, just the two of us, to the Woodland Fairy Experience. It’s a really sweet, well thought out and magical activity for kids. The little lady LOVED it.
5 things I love about being pregnant
I’m one of those annoying people who really loves being pregnant and has had an easy time of it. These are my favourite things about being pregnant.
Whitelee Windfarm
We’ve been trying to make the best of some pretty crappy weather lately and ventured out to Whitelee Windfarm in Eaglesham. It’s rugged & picturesque, and the wind turbines are pretty grand up close. They also have a wee cafe for a post-walk warm up.
A Babymoon to Northern Ireland
My husband and I went on a wee babymoon to Northern Ireland; our first weekend away together, just the two of us, since the little lady was born 3 years ago!
5 things I want to achieve before baby pops out
There a few things I’d love to get finished (or started) before baby arrives. I doubt I’ll get them all done, but if I write them down it might happen!
Pregnancy update: 28 weeks
I’m 28 weeks pregnant. I can’t believe how quickly this pregnancy is going. I feel like time has sped up since before our little lady was born almost 3 years ago. As with my last pregnancy, I’ve been so lucky and everything has been going well. I feel great. I wish my hair had become beautifully …
The Indoor Beach at Buchanan Galleries
The promise of playtime at a Caribbean beach is surely enough to make any toddler be on their best shopping behaviour, right? It’s a great way to break up the day if you’re in town for a few hours. Also, it’s a great way to support a local charity.
Gusto & Relish
We’ve been to Gusto & Relish cafe in Shawlands quite a few times now. Partly because they do my husbands favourite breakfast – baked eggs, but also because they’re so child & family friendly.
Looking to the future
Yesterday was a dark, tumultuous day. I didn’t really know what to say about the EU referendum result so I said nothing. Even today I feel like most of my thoughts aren’t particularly coherent. But I don’t think, like many are suggesting, that the leave voters were all racists & xenophobes. Yes, some of them …
Culzean Castle & Country Park
We had a great time at Culzean Castle & Country Park. They have one of the best playparks we’ve ever been to. There’s so much to do at Culzean and it’s really beautiful too; pretty gardens, swans, forest and a big rocky shoreline. Excellent day out.
Amazonia
Amazonia is small, but the little lady and her friend had a great time. Once they were done with the animals, the bridges entertained them for ages.
Family Ferry Trip
We took our first family ferry trip as part of our road trip over to Holland. They have a fantastic kids club & the little lady had a great time exploring every part of the ship she could. The food was great too. Highly recommended ferry travel!
Monday Meal Plan – 23rd May 2016
I’m trying to be a bit more organised these days. So I thought I’d try to do a weekly meal plan as part of my new found organisational skills. Here is this weeks.
5 UK trips I want to take in the next year
Chester Zoo I used to work in Chester Zoo and I have incredibly fond memories of my time there. So it is pretty special to me. I absolutely love the place. I worked in most of the different animal departments and met lots of wonderful characters; human and non-human! And quite a few of the …
The Birth of a Little Lady
My ceasarian section birth story. It wasn’t what I’d planned. It was an emergency section. But it got the little lady into the world safe and healthy.
Quesadilla Shapes
These quesadilla shapes are a fun way to get kids helping out in the kitchen. We’ve made them a few times now and the little lady has a great time grating cheese, putting them together and cutting out her shapes once they’re cooked.
What’s in my bag?
I’m joining in the ‘Blog Every Day in May’ challenge in an attempt to get some inspiration and out of the little writers slump I’ve found myself in. This is day 4 (but day 1 for me since I only just found it!)
St Mungo Museum & Glasgow Cathedral
I enjoyed wandering around St Mungo Museum and Glasgow Cathedral. There are lots of really beautiful artefacts and architecture. The little lady didn’t quite appreciate either of them though. She enjoyed exploring, but we’ll probably go to a more child-friendly museum in future.
